The Spiritual Resilience Handbook

Spiritual resilience is the ability to maintain a sturdy positive spirit and a clear sense of purpose and meaning even in the face of suffering. We all need spiritual resilience to thrive, but how do we strengthen resilience in today’s turbulent times? The Spiritual Resilience Handbook combines current research in neuroscience and positive psychology with traditional Christian spiritual habits to create a practical approach that helps. The method rests on six spiritual practices that increase emotional and physical wellbeing while deepening our capacity to become the persons we were created to be. While shaped by the author’s own Christian background, it is welcoming and adaptable to seekers from a wide range of faith perspectives. Addressing the spiritual hunger common to us all, this approach invites conversation and sharing across differences while supporting readers in deepening and staying true to their own path. Ideal for individuals and for small groups.

A Re-Imagined Advent Calendar

Often during Advent we re-tell our spiritual story, from figures in the Old Testament to the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ birth. This calendar shares the human spiritual story from a somewhat different perspective. With accompanying Scripture quotes, we describe the origins of the universe and human life from a somewhat more scientific perspective. We then trace the development of spiritual awareness in humankind, including great spiritual leaders from across traditions and across the globe. The final pages re-tell the traditional story of the events surrounding Jesus’ birth.

Questions for reflection and discussion are included.
